Mohamed El Fayomi

Mohamed El Fayomi is an Egyptian sculptor born in Al Fayoum in 1963. He received his first diploma from the Second Industrial School and his bachelor's from the Faculty of Agriculture at the Open University in Egypt. He later pursued his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts and has also obtained a diploma in Arabic calligraphy. His work can be seen in the museum of Egyptian Modern Art.

Fayoumi is known for portraying characters that are marginalized in the Egyptian society. His sculptures are also recognised for their full figured form. In this symposium he is creating a figure of an Egyptian man taking a long deep breath before the taking off.
