Liu Yang

Piece: Tahreek Al-Akhar

Liu Yang is a Chinese sculptor born in China in 1972. Yang holds two bachelor's degrees, one in Food Engineering and another in Business Administration. He is a member of the Chinese Professional Sculpture Committee. From 2002 until 2010, Yang worked at CCTV as the General Director of the TV talk show "Word Hard." Prior to his work with CCTV, Yang was the Deputy Director of the Editor in Chief's office at Hei Long Jian Morning Newspaper. He has participated in various exhibitions throughout his career including, the Tian'jin SanXitang International Sculpture Exhibition, the Tangshan International Sculpture Symposium, and the Korea Boryeong Black Stone Sculpture Symposium.

Yang's work is inspired by the Chinese heritage and beliefs. For this symposium Liu is making a sculpture inspired by where the sculpture of a man has come to life and is moving another sculpture.
