Hesham Abd Alah

Hesham Abd Alah, born in Egypt in 1972, is an Egyptian sculptor and a member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists in Egypt. Throughout his career he has been involved in various local and international exhibitions, such as the Cairo International Biennale of Ceramics in 2002, the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 2008, and the collective exhibition at the Saad Zaghloul Cultural Centre in 2009, to name a few. Abd Alah has received several awards for his work including the Jury prize for Cairo International Biennale for Ceramic in 2000, the Prize of Cairo International Biennale of Ceramics in 2006 and the Encouragement prize sculpture Port Said Biennale in 2002.

His work has revolved around abstract symbolism where he creates sculptures that capture human psychological struggles. His piece in this symposium depicts a scarecrow that has been pushed to the point of revolting: "the revolution of a scarecrow".
