Amal Kenawy and Abd El Ghany Kenawy

Amal Kenawy and Abd El Ghany Kenawy are a brother and sister team of Egyptian sculptors. Both were born in Cairo, Egypt, Abd El Ghany born in 1967, and Amal born in 1974. Amal Kenawy holds a bachelor's in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo University, while Abd El Ghany Kenawy holds a bachelor's in Free Study Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo University. They have participated in several national and international exhibitions together including the What's Happening Now exhibition in the Place of Arts in Cairo, Egypt, the Spot on Dakar exhibition in the IFA Gallery in Berlin, Germany, the Emotional Drawings exhibition in the Modern Museum of Art in Koyto, Japan, and the Iconclastes exhibition in the Galerie Anne De Villepoix in Paris, France.

For this symposium they are creating three metal doors penetrated by a person of great energy. The concept behind this piece is capturing the event or aftermath of this penetration and the great energy that has swept through these doors leaving a different state of motion in each panel.
