This project is a philanthropic, artistic collaboration between three individuals - Rawah Alfalah Badrawi, Omar Hikal, and Khaled Shokry - and SODIC. Our aim is to produce a series of photo memoirs covering Egypt's special places, people and lifestyles, with proceeds being directed entirely to charity.
SODIC has funded these series as part of our commitment to the Arts and unveiling the beauty and culture of Egyptian heritage. The idea of the book series is to capture the enchanting landscape, culture and history of Egyptian societies, revealing the hidden gems of Egypt through the lens, with thoughtful, often nostalgic narration from the people that know it best. The Book Series' publisher is Haven Books, a dynamic English-language press based in Hong Kong with books that focus primarily on Asian and international themes.
SIWA: Legends and Lifestyles in the Egyptian Sahara will be out for worldwide release in the Fall of 2011.
