Alfanar is an Arab charitable foundation that supports enterprising organisations in the region with a strategic mix of the financial support they need to implement their projects, and the advice and expertise that allows them to fulfil their social objectives while becoming more financially independent.
The organisations Alfanar supports work on reducing poverty, improving the quality of education, widening access to health care and assisting individuals to access their social, economic and human rights.
Alfanar provides the link between resources from around the world and the development needs of organisations and communities in the Arab world. Established in 2004, Alfanar has developed a diverse portfolio of projects in Egypt.
SODIC has partnered with Al Fanar, to implement several programs across the country. All these programmes focus their efforts on community development and human empowerment. They aim to develop women and children through education, awareness and vocational training with the objective of leading these entities to sustainability and independence. SODIC has been working with Al Fanar on four main programmes: Future Lights for Development Organisation (FLDO): Early Childhood Education and Outreach Program, Shomoo Girls' Empowerment through Education and Psychological Support, Al Mawred Music and Circus Arts School for Children, Helwan Association for Community Development: Bashayer Training, Employment and Access to Health Care.
