Valode et Pistre

Denis Valode and Jean Pistre set up their practice in 1980. They have collaborated on many high-profile international projects, including the new city centre of Ekaterinburg in Russia and Zhang Jia Kou New Town in China. They are working on a frontage, a mixed-use complex that includes a commercial as wells as residential program. Their design takes clues from traditional Egyptian architecture through the reinterpretation of mashrabiya wood screens, and wind scoops.
